A glossy dark streak caught my eye right on the edge of the kitchen counter—an absolute pastry emergency! Flustered, I dashed toward a ceramic mug holding coffee supplies and wrestled a flat wooden stirrer free. Rushing back, I wedged my vinyl feet against the saucer's rim, braced the stick with both round paws, and carefully scooped the runaway filling back onto the crust.
