A Green Speckled Pebble
I trotted past the mailboxes down to the big glass entrance doors! A warm pool of midday sun was resting across the speckled terrazzo floor. Right near the rubber mat sat a heavy terracotta pot holding an umbrella plant. I tiptoed closer, tilting my head at the cool moist soil inside. Balanced on the edge of the rim was a smooth green pebble, round and polished like a glossy candy. I reached up, pressing both front paws against the rough pot edge. With a gentle tap of my nose, the pebble rolled forward into my paws, cool and surprisingly weighty!
