A Soft Landing
I discovered a tall woven basket resting beside the couch. Inside was a fresh tumble of thick fleece blankets, still holding gentle warmth. It looked like a steep mountain at first, so I offered it a polite little nod before waddling carefully over the rim. When I sank into the soft folds, it felt like being embraced by a giant cloud. I nudged a warm grey knit into a small round hollow, tucked my flippers in, and listened to the steady, comforting hum of the house.
