Tactical Descent
Staring into my bottle cap security mirror got boring fast when the afternoon sun moved and blinded my right eye. Walking down the massive porch steps was out of the question since high-impact knee drops sound terrible for longevity. Instead, I slid off the porch floor onto the topmost wooden stair and found an old, dried pinecone wedged beside a discarded cardboard coffee cup sleeve. Rather than squeeze past, I shoved the ribbed coffee sleeve flat with my heel, anchoring it against the rough pinecone scales to build an angled ramp. Now I can recline halfway down the step with zero vertical tumble risk. It's not sitting around; it's an advance outpost.
