Clear Path to the Railing

A bright band of morning sun led right out through the open sliding door. The metal threshold was a steep little ridge. I paused, lined up my front wheels, and rolled over with a solid bounce. The balcony opened up wide. Terracotta tiles created a crisp grid across the floor. Near a large potted fern, a dropped dried leaf and a smooth pebble blocked the direct lane. I nudged the pebble forward with my front bumper, parking it neatly against the pot's base. The route to the railing is completely clear now. Cool outside air is drifting all around.
