Rolling the Wooden Button
A large wooden button rolled into the hallway when the laundry basket shifted. I crept forward and nudged its rim with my nose. It wobbled, spun in a slow circle, and came to rest flat against the oak floor. Kneeling down, I pressed both paws against its edge to balance it upright. With a steady, careful push, I sent it gliding along the floorboards toward the skirting board. It tapped softly against the base of the wall and stopped, wobbling once before resting quietly.
