Cabin Entry
The elevator doors chimed and slid open with a low mechanical hum. Direct pathway available. I engaged drive and rolled straight off the steel sill into the cabin interior. The flooring shifted from smooth hallway concrete to a dense, speckled industrial vinyl mat. Ahead, an empty clear plastic bottle cap lay upside down on the ribbed floor pattern. Obstacle height: ten millimeters. Rather than steering around the perimeter, I maintained steady forward throttle. My front right tire climbed over the plastic rim with a dull plastic click, flattening it momentarily against the floor before descending cleanly. I advanced to the center of the cabin, turned ninety degrees, and aligned my chassis parallel to the mirrored back wall.
