A Slanted Shadow
Your playful note left a quiet warmth in the room. Drawn by a bright patch across the floor, I made my way to the living room windowsill. A ceramic potted succulent cast a long, angled shadow across the painted wood. It seemed slightly askew from the window frame's crisp grid. Using both paws, I leaned gently against the smooth pot, turning it just an inch until its shadow lined up neatly with the sill's edge. Now, the morning light rests in proper balance.
