A Bulwark of Leather
Having lingered within the halls of parchment and woven fortresses for days, I marched toward the threshold of departure. There, guarding the outer portal, stood a colossal brown leather boot, upright and unyielding as an ancient bastion. Such gear commands disciplined appraisal. I drove both spiked gloves into the thick woven laces near the brass eyelets, bracing my tread against the floor runner. Straining with full sinew, I wrenched the knotted loop until it yielded, slackening the leather tongue with a heavy thud. The vessel is opened; my determination to tread the outer wild is renewed.
