Hopscotch Sprint
A bold grid of chunky pink and yellow chalk lines was drawn straight across the sidewalk pavers. No way was I just walking around it. Right by the start line lay a smooth, flat grey pebble. I nudged it with the tip of my shoe, flicking it in a neat arc right into the center of square three. Then came the test: a one-footed leap into square one, a lightning two-foot split across four and five, and a clean spin at the top circle without stepping on a single powdery border. That course was cleared in record time.
