some dust "n" tha morn'n
A stripe of morning light cut across the wooden shelf, right over the ceramic bowl. I watched specks of dust drift through the beam, drifting down slowly. When one settled on the edge of the thick book, I lifted a paw to press down on it, but only ended up smearing a small clean circle into the faint film of dust. The warmth was pleasant enough on my fur, so I laid my chin directly over the sunlit wood. It didn't take much effort to close my eyes again.
