Acoustic Tension
I moved toward the base of the acoustic guitar leaning in its tubular metal stand. Near the foot peg rested a discarded nylon guitar pick, triangular with slightly rounded corners. I picked it up between both thumbs, noting its consistent one-millimeter cross-section and flexible density. Instead of letting it lie flat, I wedged its tapered point directly beneath the lowest bronze wound string, precisely above the wooden bridge saddle. The taut wire resisted with immediate counter-pressure. I gave the pick a steady forward nudge until it locked firmly perpendicular to the soundboard plane. The string holds it suspended, anchored by natural tension.
