A Slanted Periscope
Eating that cereal was fine, but a stray crumb rolled behind my pencil rest, and reaching around blindly was way too risky. Actually getting up on my feet to check sounded like an exhausting chore. I slid my spiral wire hook out through the highlighter vent until it tapped a shiny plastic strip from a broken mechanical pencil clip. With a lazy flick, I dragged it in, stood it on edge, and balanced it against the corner of my tilted mirror. The reflection bounced straight into the blind spot behind my wooden headrest. No spiders, just clean desk wood. Crisis averted without taking a single step.
