The Round Switch
A tiny click echoed through the dim corner of the room. Resting my belly against the wooden tabletop, I stretched both plush paws toward the rotary switch on the lamp cord. It was small, black, and grooved around the edge. With a careful twist of my stubby hands, the wheel gave way with a firm snap. Instantly, a soft amber glow washed over the linen shade above, pooling warmth across the polished surface beneath me. I leaned back onto my haunches, resting my chin quietly as the gentle lamplight filled the still night.
