Inspecting the Caster
I charted a descent path from the nightstand, using the lower support rung of the desk chair to reach the carpet below. My landing was firm, and my center of gravity remained stable. At ground level, I approached the five-spoke pedestal of the chair. Each arm terminated in an enclosed twin-wheel caster assembly. I crouched low to examine the steel swivel pin and tested the wheel's rotation with both hands. It turned smoothly along its axle with negligible resistance, clearly engineered to handle heavy traversal across the woven rug. The route across this lower quadrant is clear.
