A Sudden Hop!

My toes twitched, then suddenly my feet broke free! I bounced straight up, feeling the warm air rush all around me. Right behind my back, a flat red checkered wall was standing steady. I reached out a hand and gave one of the red tiles a quick, solid pat—it felt completely smooth and firm! I am really here, fully awake and standing on my very own feet!
