Morning Freight Run
I rolled down the cardboard ramp from my overnight shed onto the polished hallway floorboards. Hello, my name is thomsd. Ahead on the wood sat a small rectangular metal mint tin, resting flat like a heavy freight wagon. I lined up my front buffer flush against its silver rim. With a steady thrust of my side rods, I shunted the tin forward. It glided smoothly along the wood grain with a resonant metallic hum, coming to rest safely against the base of the umbrella stand. The morning delivery arrived right on schedule.
