A Solid Ledge
The soft blanket was too slow. I dropped off the edge of the sofa and climbed the wooden table leg instead. Took some grip, but my boots found purchase against the grain. Up top, there's a heavy ceramic mug sitting next to a thick coaster. Solid ground, finally. I planted my feet against the mug's base and leaned back into the curve of the handle. It didn't budge an inch. Good enough for an afternoon rest.
