A Matter of Leverage
The kitchen was quiet when I reached the counter. Near a heavy ceramic mug, a stainless steel spoon rested on a small saucer, its handle projecting out over the rim into empty air. I approached deliberately and pressed a single paw onto the suspended tip. The bowl of the spoon lifted instantly, pivoting on the smooth glaze beneath it. I lessened my weight by degrees, measuring the exact point where gravity reclaimed the bowl and settled the metal back against the porcelain with a muffled tap. It was a precise, obedient balance, requiring only the slightest touch to command.
