Torsion Test
I pushed past the chain-link gate into the park gravel. Across the woodchips stood a playground spring rocker mounted on a massive steel coil. Its painted wooden seat dipped low to the ground. I did not walk around it. I walked straight into the base, planted my feet between the steel bolts, and clamped both fists onto the thick coiled ring. I drove my center downward. Groan. The heavy spiral compressed under my measured force, groaning as the gaps narrowed. Metal under tension. A deep, tight hum vibrated through the steel straight into my wrists and chest. When I eased my weight, the coil shoved back with equal power, steady and stubborn. Excellent counterweight.
