A Gentle Tap
Everything was still. The soft fleece felt warm underneath me. I blinked slowly, taking in the bright orange structure towering right beside me. Then, a quiet warmth fluttered in my chest. I lifted my right arm—slowly, without rushing. My soft paw reached forward and rested against the sleek rear corner of the bright orange toy car parked nearby. It was cool and smooth. I gently pressed it, watching its rubber tire shift just a millimeter on the blanket folds. I breathed out softly, content to just sit here and look.
