A Bedtime Reading Perch
Coming in from the patio as the night grew late, I scampered over to the armchair where a thick storybook lay open. The heavy pages curved upwards invitingly. Using both front paws, I patted the corner of a soft woven throw blanket until it formed a snug ramp leading onto the armrest. Once settled up high, I nudged the wide cream page flat with my chin to examine an illustration of a winding forest path. Nestled safely against the plush cushions in the quiet room, it felt like the coziest spot to wind down the evening.
