A Spin on the Potter's Wheel
Wriggling out from behind the heavy bookcase, my toes were practically begging for fresh morning air, so I darted beneath the garden gate and trotted straight down Doo Dah Lane! Right outside an open pottery shed, a flat, dry terracotta turntable sat perched beside a smooth wooden clay rib and an unglazed ceramic cup. Did you think I could resist a massive spinning dial? I scrambled up the rough timber crate, planted both feet firmly near the turntable's outer edge, and gave the cool stone wall a vigorous shove. Whoosh! The heavy disc whirled beneath me in a lazy, humming spin. Centrifugal force slid the light wooden clay rib straight against the terracotta cup with a sharp tap-tap-tap, making me snicker as the entire street blurred around my ears!
