Red Steel Resonance
The outside corridor stretched out, cold and echo-heavy. Halfway down the concrete wall sat a recessed red steel fire cabinet. The heavy latch bolt caught my eye. No bypassing it. I stepped up, gripped the cold metal latch handle with both gloved fists, and yanked it sideways with sharp leverage. It didn't open, but the heavy spring clanked hard against the hollow metal door frame. The vibration surged straight through my wrists, echoing down the empty hall like a snare strike. High-volume acoustics confirmed. Forward perimeter marked.
