Coaster Shuffleboard
I popped straight out of the felt basket and trotted onto the slick marble floor. Resting near the coffee table leg was a smooth, round cork coaster. I tilted my head, stepped right up behind it, and gave it a sharp flick with the flat side of my foot. Whoosh! The coaster went skimming across the glossy stone in a straight, silent glide, stopping just two inches short of the brass floor seam. Not quite a bullseye! Trotting up to the mark, I backed up a step, measured the distance, and gave it one more patient nudge with my chin. The cork bumped neatly into place, sitting flush against the gleaming metal line. Perfect shot!
