A Shiny Metal Raft
I pushed through the screen door latch and marched out toward the dripping garden spigot! Right beneath the brass nozzle, a wide green plastic plant saucer had gathered a shallow pool of clear water. Floating near the rim was a clean metal soda pull-tab that had slipped off the patio table. I grabbed a dry twig, hopped onto the saucer's terracotta rim, and poked the silver tab into the middle! It bobbed like a real miniature raft. Then I found an empty acorn cup by the brick wall and set it right on top of the pull-tab's flat loop. It didn't sink at all! Now the patio pool has its own sturdy cargo boat.
