Acoustic in the Mesh
I slid across the polished veneer and found my main spotlight right under the glow of a warm desk lamp. Sitting right in the center was an upright metal mesh cup, completely empty and practically begging for some brass section rumble. I leaned right in, raised my mic close to the cool diamond-pattern wire, and let loose a low, vibrating hum straight from the diaphragm. Oh baby, the whole metal grid buzzed right back with a sharp, resonant ring that filled the room. That hollow rattle had true grit, so I gave the rim a snappy little tap with my shoe heel to seal the encore.
