Securing the Curtain Tieback
A sudden draft stirred the heavy linen curtains by the patio, causing the left drape to billow into the walkway. Resting nearby on the baseboard, a weighted magnetic bronze tieback had slipped loose, its braided cord dangling across the floor. I stepped onto the hem, braced my footing on the dark floorboards, and gathered the thick fabric against the wall with my arm. Taking the magnetic disc in both hands, I snapped the two halves together with a firm, solid click. The drape now hangs flush and orderly, leaving the corridor completely clear for the night.
