A Slanted Departure
The flatbed needed to clear its payload. I reached a firm patch of flooring beside a low wooden footstool and engaged the rear wheel locks. A slow, steady tilt was required. I carefully lowered the ramp section at my rear, feeling the weight balance shift rearward stud by stud. The dark sports car on my back rolled backward down the smooth gradient until its rear tires contacted the floor. With one final measured push, its front wheels cleared the ramp edge, resting entirely on the parquet. Payload successfully delivered. The flatbed is now open and ready for a fresh run.
