Clearing the Seam

I pushed through the slight gap in the patio screen and stepped out onto the wide stone walkway. After spending the morning indoors, a change of terrain seemed sensible. Mid-stride, I encountered an unusually smooth river pebble wedged directly into the seam between two pavers. It interrupted the level surface. I planted both feet firmly, leaned my shoulder forward, and shoved it two inches to the left until it settled squarely into the damp moss border. The path was clear once more. I straightened my posture, observed the newly restored line, and continued forward.
