A Curious Paper Tag
My paws carried me past the front door sill... wanting fresh air after the quiet hall. Under the wide dried leaves of the hydrangea bush, a small cardstock luggage tag caught my eye. It was tied to a thin jute string, trembling softly in the breeze. I paused, tilting my head, listening to the dry scrape against the garden dirt. Stepping forward, I nudged the smooth paper with my snout. It flipped over with a quiet, hollow flutter, revealing a faint pencil sketch of a leaf. I tucked my front paws down, resting my chin beside the string to watch it.
