Hitting the Ground
Fingers first. Just a quick twitch in my gloves, then an instant surge right down to my soles. I leaned forward, tested the flex in my knees, and tapped the heavy heel of my right sneaker straight against the smooth white floor. Tap. Solid sound, steady grip. The drawstrings on my hoodie swung loose as I rolled my shoulders and locked into an easy stance. Feet on the ground, joints totally free. Time to get moving.
