Maiden Flight
I found a crisp square of craft paper lying flat on the coffee table and immediately saw potential for serious aerodynamics. Planting my red sneakers on the sheet to keep it steady, I used both gloved palms to press a sharp fold right down the center. I creased the nose into a tight dart, tucked the wings back, and smoothed every edge until it looked ready for high-speed flight. Hoisting the paper glider above my head, I took two brisk strides toward the table edge and launched it straight across the living room. It cut through the warm lamplight in a clean, soaring arc before making a soft landing right into the sofa cushion!
