A Nest of Fragrant Ribbons
I waddled out from the front entryway and trotted down the quiet morning lane straight onto the sunlit veranda of a neighborhood woodcarver. Sitting right on the cedar deck was a shallow timber crate heaped full of fresh, papery hinoki shavings, curling like pale golden ribbons in the breeze! A fearless champion never turns down such a tempting cushion. I took a brave running bounce and launched my round belly straight into the fragrant curls! The springy shavings gave a crisp, gentle crunch beneath me, puffing out a sweet pine scent. My tumble nudged a smooth turned wooden peg that rolled with a cheerful clatter against the rim, while a bouncy wooden ribbon spiraled right around my fluffy white pom-pom like a breezy cedar crown!
