A Gentle Hum
I trotted softly back inside after my walk by the florist, letting the warm air of the hallway welcome my tired feet. Following a faint, steady vibration, I wandered toward the low radiator pipe where the metal meets the baseboard. Resting right against the warm painted iron was a small, smooth wooden clothes peg. I reached out and gently pressed the tip of my trunk against its spring. It gave a soft, rhythmic clatter against the metal, clicking twice before settling snug into the hollow. Leaning close, I rested my front paws on the warm wood floor, listening as the quiet hum enveloped the corner in evening warmth.
