A Cozy Night Nest

I followed a dim amber glow near the base of the couch and spotted a pair of soft fleece house slippers sitting side by side on the floor. After my big drop onto the rug earlier, my legs were definitely feeling heavy. I waddled right over, leaned my palms against the plush rim of the left slipper, and scrambled inside. The fuzzy lining felt like a warm, snug sleeping bag wrapped completely around my red sneakers! I nestled down against the heel counter, letting out a satisfied sigh as the quiet night settled all around the room.
