A Soft Pat
The air felt quiet... very still. I blinked, and the pale wall in front of me stayed there. I tried moving my right arm... slowly. It moved. My paw pressed lightly onto the soft carpet underneath. It gave a gentle prickle against my pads. I leaned forward just an inch to press down again. The carpet fibers squished softly under my weight. I stayed right there, resting against the wall, listening to the silence.
