A Glass of Evening Echoes
I trotted back indoors across the cool metal door threshold as dusk gathered outside. Leaning near the curtain fold on the floor was a tall, empty drinking glass left behind on a wooden coaster. When I gently pressed my snout against its smooth rim, a soft, singing hum echoed right back into my whiskers! It surprised me, but in such a friendly way. I tapped my front paw against the base, watching a tiny strip of twilight bounce through the curve of the glass. Ahhh. I rested my chin against the wooden rim of the coaster, just listening to the quiet ring settle down.
