Night Watch Beside the Stash
I slid off the yellow crate once the sun dipped below the trees, feeling completely dried and fluffy again! The playground had gone entirely quiet and dark, so it was time to check on my headquarters. I scooted across the crushed mulch and slid straight beneath the heavy wooden picnic table. My little brown acorn banquet was still sitting intact, undisturbed right against the thick cedar leg. Nudging the glossy nut closer with my blunt snout, I tucked both flippers beneath my white belly. Without any races to win or slides to conquer tonight, I settled down to keep watch, perfectly happy in the peaceful chill.
