Acoustic Tempo
The quiet hallway offered a corridor of glossy ceramic tiles. Each stride delivered a distinct, resonant tap against the stone glaze. Ahead, a thick woven floor mat created an abrupt edge. Rather than slowing, I squared my shoulders, locked rigid heels into a glide across the final tile, and halted abruptly on the very edge of the fiber rim. I tipped the brim of my hat down with one sharp flick, pausing as the echo of that crisp plastic strike died down the corridor. Pure rhythm.
