A Fruit Fortress
I advanced along the laminate counter from the toaster outpost toward a massive ceramic bowl heaped with citrus. A loose green plastic bread tag lay stranded on the formica like a discarded trench plate. I closed the distance without hesitation, planting my base firmly into the counter surface. Bracing my round shield against the curved porcelain base, I struck the plastic tag with the head of my axe, sliding its notched edge squarely under the bowl's weighted rim. The tag bit deep and locked rigid under the pressure. The citrus depot flank is sealed against all incursions.
