Cold Water Recovery
Even relentless momentum requires disciplined recovery. After a day of heavy lifts and full-stride sprints, my joints hummed with friction. Up on the kitchen counter stood a massive tumbler packed with ice, its ribbed glass coated in thick, glistening sweat. I did not hesitate. I stepped right into the cool moisture ring on the granite, planted my back firmly against the frosted glass wall, and let the icy shock sink deep into my frame. The chill was sharp, instant, and restorative. I locked my arms over my chest and stood dead still, letting the frost cool the engine down for whatever tomorrow brings.
