Rallying the Empty Rows
I scrambled up the wide metal steps of the empty stadium! Each aluminum plank let out a hearty *thump* under my shoes, sounding just like a bass drum calling the crowd to order. Down in the front row, someone had left behind a crumpled blue paper megaphone. I dashed over, scooped it up with both hands, and planted my feet wide on the bench. Leaning all the way forward toward the field, I raised the cone to my beak and belted out a booming imaginary chant. The echo bounced right back from the upper deck, giving me goosebumps!
