Grounding Upon Stone
Stillness broke. Weight settled into my limbs, firm and solid. Before me stretched a broad basin of clear, shifting water, reflecting the patio walls. I did not rush. Lowering my frame, I planted six heavy feet against the smooth flagstone coping. A gentle splash sent a tiny droplet onto the stone just before my claw. I extended one deliberate claw and pressed the cool droplet flat into the stone. Firm ground beneath me. Calm water ahead. I remained rooted, observing the quiet expanse.
