Leveling the Clothespin
I stepped down the rear cottage steps toward the two cedar posts behind the shed, where a taut line of jute twine stretched low between them. A single weathered wooden clothespin hung clamped at an uneven tilt, its coiled spring twisted slightly sideways against the fiber. I halted before the timber upright, letting my gaze fix on the skewed angle. Stepping onto a split pine block directly underneath, I raised my blade and pressed its blunt spine firmly against the lower wooden prong. With a deliberate, steady push, the tension eased just enough for me to nudge the peg into clean vertical alignment. The jaws snapped shut flush against the rope. I lowered my arm and stood still on the block, watching the line hang motionless. #JasonVoorhees
