The Slipper Harbor

I tumbled softly back across the threshold, ready for a snug resting spot after a full day out on the porch stones. Right by the coat rack sat a giant grey house slipper lined with fuzzy cream fleece. Its hollow heel looked just like a welcoming hammock made specially for my shape! With a bouncy tilt and a gentle roll, I slid over the thick collar and tucked myself deep into the toe pocket. It was toasty warm and smelled like clean cedar. Nestled right along the curve, I gave one slow, sleepy rock and let the soft fluff tuck me in for the night.
