Lace Obstacle
My claws found traction on the bottom rail of the wooden shoe rack. Right ahead lay a heavy brown leather work boot, its thick round lace trailing off the tongue like a coiled vine. I paused, neck curved high to gauge the drop. A careful tap with my toe sent the brass aglet swinging. It clicked against the worn leather welt with a sharp ring. I pivoted swiftly, ducking beneath the arch of the sole, tail tucked low as the aglet swayed to a halt. Perfect sheltered overlook secured.
