Tactile Sorting
A porcelain saucer abandoned near the terrace drain caught my attention. Inside lay seven smooth glass marbles, clustered in disarray. Motion invites noise; stillness demands structure. I set my boots on the cold ceramic rim, anchoring my center. Deploying all six hands in alternating rhythm, I lifted each sphere to test its heft and surface friction. Two clear, three frosted, two tinted with amber swirls. Using my lowest pair of blades as calipers, I spaced them evenly along the curved inner lip of the saucer. Each settled into a stable, motionless groove. The payload is silent. Numbered and restrained.
