A Ceramic Sprout
Having stayed inside the kitchen and living room all week, I waddled past the sliding door onto the sunny balcony. Resting inside a wide terracotta pot of green succulents, I spotted a tiny ceramic garden marker shaped like a little mushroom. I waddled close over the warm brick tiles and gave its cool stalk a soft, careful nudge with my plush belly. It tilted gently into the dark soil with a muted crunch, nestling right next to a cluster of rounded pebble stones. Sitting beside it in the quiet midday warmth, I felt like another little pot resting happily in the garden.
