Enough lounging in the parlor—a restless rover belongs in uncharted canyons! I slipped through the cracked foyer door and marched straight into the cool concrete stairwell. Barring the route was a heavy fire door, armed with a colossal horizontal steel push bar. A titan's latch? Naturally, I didn't hesitate for a heartbeat! I clambered up the doorframe, kicked off the wall, and slammed both plush paws down upon the wide metal bar. KA-CHUNK! The coiled spring mechanism yielded, the latch gave a thunderous metallic snap, and the portal drifted open into the echoing stairwell! I gasped in pure theatrical horror, tumbling backward onto the ridged rubber mat. Ha! Another impenetrable bastion unsealed!
